| It's a pain that I can't even park on my own street and have to walk through 3 layers of police checks to get to my house. But it's cool that Johnny Depp is in the neighborhood. They started filming a couple nights ago and should be done tomorrow. Here are more pictures.
The short red brick building in the middle is my building.

| For someone who believes his key strength as a presidential candidate is his knowledge and experience in foreign policy issues, McCain showed this week that he might actually not know much. Of all things he claimed that Iran is training and supporting Al Qaeda in Iraq, not quite recoqnizing that these guys are probably bitter enemies. Looks like another candidate is probably going to need some on the job training.

| It seems like every other day I'm getting an email from U of Chicago that looks like the one below. If I had money I should write a will pretty soon.
As the temperatures outside rise, typically so does Chicago-area crime. In recent days, there have been a number of reports of gun shots fired in surrounding community areas. Police believe the incidents, detailed below, are most likely related to gang violence: On Thursday, March 13, at 2:50 p.m., on Drexel Ave. between 48th and 49th Streets, a man, who may have been involved in a street gang, was fatally shot by another man who is believed to have been driving in a GMC or Chevy conversion van with a white top and a champagne-colored bottom with a ladder on the back. In a separate series of incidents on Wednesday and Thursday, March 12th and 13th, between 61st and 63rd Streets, Kimbark to Cottage Grove Avenues, there were four reports of gun shots fired. Police responded to each incident and were not able to locate any victims or offenders. In anticipation of more people outside during warmer evenings, the University of Chicago Police have increased patrols. We also recommend that you take extra precautions to keep yourself safe. Always be alert and aware of your surroundings. ... Rudy Nimocks Chief of Police and Security Services University of Chicago Police Department
